BONDAGE

Cast in chains like a prisoner

Barks at the warden with anguish, pain and sorrow

Sings a song whose rhythm is freedom

Bleeding from his ailing heart .

I watched from afar and screamed in silence

Of the horror that was before me

The nightmare I didn’t want to wake up from.

As I saw people filled with fear and weak legs, unable to run

Large lines engraved on their  foreheads

Pleading to be released, to be free from their bondage

Crying loudly: when will be our voices we heard,

When will we free ?

But it wasn’t the physical bondage that was keeping them defeated

It was that of the mind, the worst of all.

And I couldn’t help them, I just starred

Waiting patiently for them to free themselves ..
